Goals
Behavior expectation when modifying a Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) poll interval ('set sntp poll-interval...') while SNTP is active.

Solution
If the present SNTP poll-interval is x, and it is changed to z via the above-stated command (9843), the new poll-interval z will take effect only after any remaining time has elapsed for poll-interval x - because the system is waiting on a process which returns only after the current poll-interval is complete.

This is Functions as Designed (FAD).

Note: A4/A2 firmware 3.03.02.0002 release notes state, in the 'Changes and Enhancements in 3.03.02.0002' section:
code:
15342
code:
Corrected an issue with the "set sntp poll-interval" command where the new poll interval would not take effect until the device was reset.

The stated shortcoming has been corrected for these two products, leaving the behavior as stated in this document for all listed products.
