Are there slot dependencies in the S series chassis?
Yes, there are two types of slots in the S-Series chassis. Fabric and I/O slots.
Only Fabric cards will fit into the fabric slots of the chassis.
The S3 chassis has three I/O slots and no fabric slots.
The S4 has two fabric slots and two I/O slots.
The S6 has three fabric slots and three I/O slots.
The S8 has three fabric slots and five I/O slots.
The fabric slots have a red stripe on the left hand side of the chassis for identification, and are also keyed so that only fabric cards may be physically inserted.
