Official list of classes and names

Official list of classes and names

Is there an official list of active classes and their names? I found the following classes:

Active:

  • ECS - Campus EXOS Switching & Routing

  • ECS - ExtremeCampus Fabric Deploy

  • ECS - Management Center

  • ECS - Extreme Control

  • ECS - ExtremeWireless Core

  • ECS - ExtremeWireless Cloud

  • ECS - ExtremeWireless Cloud Troubleshooting

  • ECS - Data Center Switching

  • ECS - Data Center Software

  • ECS - Extreme NAC

  • ExtremeXOS Fundamentals

  • ECS – ExtremeWireless Core – 2-day Lab

  • ECS – Campus EXOS – 2-Day Lab

  • ECS – Management Center – 2-Day Lab

  • ECS – Extreme Control – 2-Day Lab

Retired:

  • Campus Fabric Switching & Routing
  • 2-Day Lab Campus Fabric Switching & Routing
  • EOS*
  • Access Wireless*

Questions:

  1. Is this list complete and correct?
  2. Is the name of the class with or without the 'ECS'?
    (see https://www.extremenetworks.com/education/courses/)
  3. Is the name of the class with or without the '-'?
    (see https://extremenetworks.webinfinity.com/content/631215)
  4. Is there a mapping between class name and exam name?

Patrick

Hi Patrick

You are fine to continue using the names you have been using for Dojo 🙂

I will feed back to the team regarding notifications about new and upcoming classes, we would certainly like you to be able to have all the information you need when speaking to customers.

Hi  Katie,

you listed ‘Optimizing XMC’ and ‘Introduction to Fabric Connect’, but what about:

‘XMC 8.5 Workshop: Workflow Manager & Python Scripting’

This class was announced to customers/partners on 30.07.2021. It would be nice if ATP learn about new courses before customers. But these three classes are not teachable?

For the rest, if these are the official class names, why are you using different names in dojo??

ECS – Campus EXOS vs. ECS – ExtremeCampus EXOS Switching and Routing

ECS – Extreme Control vs. ECS - ExtremeAccess Control

ECS ExtremeNAC vs. ECS – ExtremeNAC

ECS – Extreme Management Center vs. ECS - ExtremeManagement Center

ECS – Data Center – VDX vs. ECS - ExtremeData Center VDX – VCS Fabric Configuration and Implementation

ECS – Data Center – SLX vs. ECS – Extreme SLX Configuration and Implementation

If we register new classes, should we use the ‘official’ names from here or the dojo names?

(I ignore that some classes have a small ‘-’ and some a long ‘–‘.)

Regards

Patrick

ps: why is state of this topic ‘SOLVED’? How can I set it to ‘OPEN’?

Hi Patrick

Below are the current active classes, certification and non-certifications;

ECS – ExtremeWireless Cloud

ECS – ExtremeWireless Cloud Troubleshooting

ECS – ExtremeWireless Core

ECS – ExtremeNAC

ECS – ExtremeCampus Fabric Deploy

ECS – ExtremeCampus EXOS Switching and Routing

ExtremeXOS Fundamentals

ECS - ExtremeAccess Control

ECS - ExtremeManagement Center

ECS – Extreme SLX Configuration and Implementation

ECS - ExtremeData Center VDX – VCS Fabric Configuration and Implementation

Optimizing XMC

Introduction to Fabric Connect

The ECS prefix is present if the class forms a certification and the exam name will be the same as the class.

Hope that helps.

Hi Patrick,

Please see https://dojo.extremenetworks.com/partner-non-certification-courses/  . The XOS FM is not dead;) I’m teaching it in 2 weeks.

Oh, you’re right. The class is “teachable”, I considered it from certification standpoint only. Because of that (and the fact XOS FUN and S&R are greatly overlapping) I disregard the fundamentals class… my bad. 😉

Now that’s a riddle for me… it seems we have this on the courses list:

Data Center VDX – VCS Fabric Configuration and Implementation

And this in the courseware:

“VDX Configuration and Implementation”

My cert tells me just:
“Data Center VDX”

I rest my case. 😉

I missed that too. I’m not sure how to do it in 4 hours. In lab classes the trainer does not explain anything and the students do the lab on their own. But still I don’t know if it’s enough time.

Before recent update half-day labs were slightly limited compared to a full class. I agree in general, both 2-day class and half-day labs might be stressful for students who need more time to dig into the materials. Plus a coffee break, plus lab intro, plus summary and exam briefing… [capslock] plus AP122 that takes a lot of time to get back to the cloud after reboot.[/capslock]

Actually nobody ever ask for theses classes. I hope they will retire soon. But this is a different story… and a different topic:)

I liked sort of gamification and difficulty they provided, but either way is fine. 😉

Yes, at least someone is posting here;)

I hope to see some more instructors here over time. 😉

Cheers,

Tomasz
