Will this be the recommended release for the X440-G2 and X460-G2 platforms?

Hi Terren,
It likely will eventually be listed as the recommended release, but keep in mind the criteria listed at the top of the page there.
The recommendation for Most Stable Release is based on the following criteria:

  • Recommended releases should have no open critical issues introduced in the respective version.
  • Recommended releases should have been deployed in the field for at least three months. As an exception, the latest release would be recommended if critical fixes affecting existing deployment were added to the release.
  • Internal SQA testing must be completed without encountering any new issues.
  • Recommended releases should have been reviewed and accepted by Engineering team leads.
The recommended Latest Feature Release is typically the newest EXOS release. It contains the latest set of features and is fully supported; however, it does not yet have a history of evaluation in the field that is as extensive as the Most Stable Release.
