Summary

A security update has been released for a third-party operating system kernel to address multiple defects. The Ubuntu vulnerabilities affect the network file sharing server and client, authentication session handling within remote procedure call paths, the storage target subsystem, memory management cache invalidation for freed page tables, packet filtering set handling, short-range wireless event handling, and extended attribute processing. The defects consist primarily of use-after-free conditions, leaked session resources, and out-of-bounds reads. A local attacker could potentially crash the system, disclose memory contents, or escalate privileges. The vendor has evaluated these issues against affected offerings and resolved them in the referenced maintenance release.

The following CVEs have been addressed:
CVE-2023-53673, CVE-2025-37778, CVE-2025-37822, CVE-2025-37924, CVE-2025-38201, CVE-2025-40082, CVE-2025-68263, CVE-2025-71089, CVE-2025-71220, CVE-2026-23180, CVE-2026-23193, CVE-2026-23216, and CVE-2026-23262.
