Upgrading SSA firmware to S-83202-0008 (8.32.02) resolved the issue. Switches continue to forward IPv4 packets despite the presence of the routing loop.

Minor Update: I have observed both SSAs in my setup exhibiting the same behaviour. So we can eliminate a hardware issue. The next firmware version I can try (qualified for use with our products) is S-83202-0008.

Daniel, Thanks for the quick response. I checked the output from the commands you suggested above and they show no anomalies. As far as the switch is concerned all is good and it is doing its job. I will get back on the firmware upgrade.
