Notice Summary
WiNG Manager (WiNGMan) has a built-in application expiry date. The current releases expire in early 2027: the Windows version on February 22, 2027 and the macOS version on March 17, 2027.
No further renewals are planned beyond these dates. After expiry, WiNG Manager can no longer be used to access the WiNG device user interface.
Customers still relying on WiNG Manager must migrate WiNG-managed access points and controllers to ExtremeCloud IQ (XIQ) or ExtremeCloud IQ Controller (XIQ-C) or manage WiNG controllers and access points locally through the WiNG NOVA HTML5 interface, which does not rely on WiNG Manager or Flash.
Background
WiNG Manager (WiNGMan) is a desktop application introduced as a stop-gap after Adobe Flash end-of-life, allowing customers to access the Flash-based WiNG device UI beyond 2020 and serving as a migratory tool toward the newer HTML5 UI (NOVA).
It is built on ElectronJS and packages a licensed Flash plugin, which carries a time-limited license.
Each WiNG Manager release has extended that license by one to two years.
The most recent release, WiNG Manager 1.0.12 extended the macOS build to March 17, 2027; release 1.0.11 extended the Windows build to February 22, 2027. NOVA is the current HTML5 interface for WiNG controllers and access points and has no Flash or WiNG Manager dependency.

Once a WiNG Manager build reaches its expiry date, the embedded Flash license is no longer valid and the application stops functioning.
Customers who depend on WiNG Manager to reach the Flash-based WiNG UI will lose that access on the dates above.
Customers who already manage their WiNG devices through the WiNG NOVA HTML5 interface are not affected, as NOVA does not depend on WiNG Manager or Flash.

Scope note: This notice concerns the WiNG Manager application expiry only. It is distinct from the WiNG controller/AP software lifecycle (ExtremeWireless WiNG 7 / VX9000 / CX9000), which carries a separately published End of Software Maintenance and End of Service Life of October 2, 2026.
Software Affected
- WiNG Manager 1.0.11 (Windows) — application expires February 22, 2027.
- WiNG Manager 1.0.12 (macOS) — application expires March 17, 2027.
- All earlier WiNG Manager builds (1.0.2 – 1.0.10) have already expired.
Symptoms
On or after the applicable expiry date, WiNG Manager displays a Flash error on launch and fails to load the WiNG device UI. The application cannot be used to connect to or manage WiNG controllers and access points. Prior to expiry the application operates normally.
Devices managed through the WiNG NOVA HTML5 interface are unaffected and remain reachable.
Workaround
There is no workaround that extends WiNG Manager past its built-in expiry date, and no further renewal release is planned after the 2027 builds. As an interim measure only, customers may continue using a currently valid WiNG Manager build up to its expiry date.
The durable path is migration (see Solution).
Where local management is needed before migration, use the WiNG NOVA HTML5 user interface to manage WiNG controllers and access points. NOVA is the modern HTML5 replacement for the Flash-based WiNG UI and does not depend on Flash or WiNG Manager, so it is not affected by the WiNG Manager expiry dates. Solution
Migrate WiNG-managed access points and controllers to ExtremeCloud IQ (XIQ) or ExtremeCloud IQ Controller (XIQ-C), which provides ongoing wireless management for Extreme APs with enhanced capabilities.
Once migrated, customers can manage their network through the ExtremeCloud IQ (XIQ) UI, Extreme Platform ONE (EP1), or the ExtremeCloud IQ Controller UI.
Recommended customer steps and field actions:
- Identify customers still using WiNG Manager and confirm their platform (Windows / macOS) and expiry exposure.
- Begin migration planning now — target completion before February 22, 2027 (Windows) and March 17, 2027 (macOS).
- For customers not ready to migrate immediately, move local management to the WiNG NOVA HTML5 interface as an interim step; it removes the WiNG Manager / Flash dependency (see Workaround for the guide link).
