Do I have to use a Radius Server with an External Captive Portal?

Hello,

I believe to achieve this functionality, you could apply a PPSK SSID with a Self-Registration CWP. This would of course be hosted on the APs.

What is the primary objective of the CWP? More to just collect information? You may be able to customize the CWP files and upload them into Hivemanager, making the CWP Custom, but not external.

Hi,

I wonder whether I must have a Radius Server when building a external captive portal.

I mean, I do not want to care it users are or not authenticated against a Radius.

I just want they login in my CWP where I get their name and email. Nothing more.

Thus, I would like not to have to have a Radius.

Is it possible or Aerohive AP must be conneted to a Radius Server?
