How to run a report

HI, is there a way to run a report to see if any of our AP’s have never been connected to, we have 120 AP’s in several buildings and I think we could re-use some of these in better locations,

Thanks

No worries at all, thanks for confirming that for me. The HiveManager doesn't store data forever, so we'll need recurring reports. If you go to Reports> Additional Reports> Customized Reports> New> Set the report type to "Client" and the report period to the time you'd like to cover> Enter the host name of the AP in question in the "Device Name" field> Select the data you would like displayed in this report from the options on this page> Name the report> Click "Run now" at the top to see what the report will be generating. If you're happy with the report output, save the report. This should show you all unique clients connecting to that AP over the time period you selected.

For more current user readings, you can pull tech data from an AP at any time, and search for the "show station" output to see how many devices were connected to the AP at that time. Additionally, you could SSH in to an AP and run the "show station" command manually to see this information. To pull tech data in Classic, you'd want to go to Monitor> Select the check box next to the AP> Utilities> Get tech data.

Thanks for that, I was hoping to run a report for all of our AP's at once to see if any had not been connected to, the above may take a while with 120 AP's

Thanks for your help

Hello, the answer will depend a bit on what HiveManager platform you are using. Could you tell me if you are using HiveManager Classic (myhive.aerohive.com) or HiveManager (formerly NG, cloud.aerohive.com)?
