We have a customer in an urban environment with a lot of interference on the UNII-1 and UNII-2 band. So we need the use of channels in the UNII-3 band (clients are compatible with those channels). As this is supported in Belgium and we used in in the past on other access points as the AP150w we implemented the Aerohive AP630 in this environment. However it is impossible to use the UNII-3 channels in Europe on this access points. Changing the countrycode to the united states for example is also not allowed. How can we solve this and use the channels of the UNII-3 band on those access points (we are aware of the max transmit power in this band).

Thank you for elaborating, if UNII-3 channels are allowed in your area I might suggest opening a support case so they can check with our development team to see if your country code should allow UNII-3 channels. It's possible they are disabled by mistake so we might be able to make them available to your customer.

Hi Sam
Thx for the reply. Even within Europe the allowed config depends per country. In Belgium we can use UNII-3, it is pity to see so many vendors handle this in a bad manner. We advised Aerohive to this customer because the possibility to use UNII-3 channels (wich was never a problem in the past), we hope the UNII-3 bands will be made available in a near future firmware update.

The channels and power levels available are tied to the country code, and the limitations on the country codes are based on the legislation regarding wireless communications for that locality. The UNII-3 band is not currently allowed in most of Europe, which would likely explain why it can't be set on an AP using a Europe country code.
