We'd want to get tech data from an AP that is having this issue so we can check for Radio Frequency interference. If you'd prefer to share the tech data with me privately please feel free to send an email to communityhelp@aerohive.com.

 

In general we are looking at the following command outputs in the tech data-

 

show acsp neighbor

  • In this output we want to look at the RSSI column. These values depict how loud the neighboring APs are, or in other words how much air space they are taking up. For these values we want to see -75 or lower. The closer to 0 this value is, the louder that AP is, and the more interference you will be experiencing

 

show int wifi0

show int wifi0 _count

  • These outputs show the health of your wifi0 radio (usually 2.4GHz, sometimes dual 5GHz). We want to check the summary state (we want this to be “Good” or “Fair”), the noise floor (we want this to be around -90), the total utilization (lower is better, just depends on what your clients are doing), and then the percentages shown in the _count command (any percentage below 10% is fine, anything over shows packet damage.

 

show int wifi1

show int wifi1 _count

  • These will show the same information as the previous commands, but for the wifi1 radio (5GHz). We'll want to check for the same things in these outputs.
