We have just purchased 25 Aerohive AP250 but was only able to onboard 7 on the portal. With the 5 or 6 others that I've so far tried, I keep getting this error "The product type for the device does not exist", which is really strange.

Thanks.

Slightly confused by the below. My understanding is that this AP can only lease IPs to clients connecting to it and not to other APs. How do I push the configuration to other APs? Even if I did, would not the same address space be pushed out to other APs and how do we avoid conflict?

Pardon my naivety please.

I'm not sure I have guides on VLANs specifically, those are usually a small object that's part of a larger set up, and the only way we do anything other than direct traffic to a VLAN number is when we host a DHCP server on an AP (https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/DHCP-Server-on-an-AP-in-NG). You can limit the lease time within the DHCP server, and that server will only host one VLAN. If you put one SSID on this VLAN, the DHCP leases given out will only be good for that VLAN, and therefore only good for that SSID. If the other SSIDs are on the same VLAN, we wouldn't have a way to limit it for a single SSID, so we will need to isolate the VLAN to a single SSID to do this.

Thanks Sam.

Please do you have any document or KB you can forward to me on all available setup options for VLANs on the Aerohives? I know it’s possible to set up the Aerohive AP as a DHCP server but how do I limit a DHCP lease to just one SSID even if the AP is configured for multiple SSIDs?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you for that entitlement key. Your account has purchased Dell support, so you should have download access in Hive Community (I've enabled this for you now), and you would want to contact Dell for support cases. I'm sorry to say I don't know if they are 24/7, but if you ever want to purchase Select support so you can contact Aerohive directly I can tell you that we are open 24/7.

Thanks Sam.

That’s correct, my email address would not have helped with the linking.

Please find the entitlement key as AJEUX-TWTWA-E7SGC-VYKCM-GUVAC-ZDBQN

Please do confirm if this is a 24x7 support.

Kind regards,
Ade.
