As part of our ongoing commitment to improving your network management experience in Extreme Platform ONETM,, we are announcing a chance in the UI experience for ExtremeCloudTM IQ, which you currently can toggle back and forth via the ‘9-dots’.

If you are currently only using Extreme Platform ONE, without toggling back to ExtremeCloud IQ, then this will not apply to you, as your experience in Extreme Platform ONE will remain unchanged.

While we are actively developing and executing our roadmap in Extreme Platform ONE to deliver a world class network management platform, we provided customers with this option, as we understand the need to sometimes go back to ExtremeCloud IQ for specific workflows.  Today, customers who do toggle to ExtremeCloud IQ are taken to the classic UI.

We will be transitioning from the classic UI to our modernized new UI which will become the default interface for all ExtremeCloud IQ customers in July 2026. The classic UI will officially be retired in Q4 2026 (before December 31, 2026)

What’s Changing

  • Nothing in Extreme Platform ONE UI and functionality.
  • ExtremeCloud IQ is transitioning from the classic UI to the new UI experience.
  • This is a user interface update only. The underlying platform, configurations, policies, and data remain unchanged.
  • There are specific features that will not be available in ExtremeCloud IQ’s new user interface based on customer usage or were not working in prior releases
  • There are specific 3rd party switches that will no longer be supported with ExtremeCloud IQ’s new user interface
  • Customers who have End of Service Life (EOSL) hardware from Extreme should be aware that this hardware will not be supported with ExtremeCloud IQ’s new UI after the user interface transition. A list of EOSL information and announcements can be found here: Extreme Networks End of Sale and End of Service Life

What’s Not Changing

  • No impact to network operations
  • Same URL and login credentials
  • No configuration, policy, or data loss
  • No licensing or entitlement changes

Because of a licensing issue, we have one foot in PlatformOne and the other in IQ Classic.  Is this going to be an issue?

Hi DeVoID,
Initially, this shouldn't be a problem, but it's unclear how they will handle the divergence in functionalities associated with each licensing model; this could be quite relevant in switches with Fabric Engine.
