Service contract start date puzzle for NMS

Hi,

We bought NMS-BASE-250 with one year service contract on 11/27/2015. NMS-Base is sufficient for what we use it for. We did not renew service contract after it ended at 11/26/2016. Now as the version 8 is GA and we need a service contract for licence upgrade we decided to buy one year servcice contract. We generally do our purchases at the end of the year.

When we asked about 1 year contract, our local reseller said new contract will begin on the date our first contract ended, that is 11/27/2016. So if we buy a new 1 year contract on 11/28/2017 will we have nothing for what we pay for? Because for the reseller new contract will be Start Date :11/27/2016 – End Date: 11/26/2017 so it will be automatically expired the the we pay it for?

I hope someone can clarify this.

Hi. The policy is that there should not be a gap in the coverage. The developlment is continuous... You can buy the contract for longer period. Can be also 13 months for example. So you can sync the contract end to whatever date you need. Regards Z

The correct way is to pay contract for NMS-BASE-250 till the date of purchase of upgrade. Once you purchase the upgrade you can buy the contract for NMS-250.

The team taking care about services should not accept contract for upgrade if the base is not covered.

There can be issue in consuming the contract if it is not correct = there is only upgrade covered but not the base.

What if we upgrade our NMS-BASE-250 license to NMS-250 with 1 year contract? Will the contract begin from the new purchase date?
