5420 EXOS switch - how to apply a classification rule

Hi All

We are trying to write a classificatiion rule for Qty 10 5420F switches -e.g a classfication rule that states a specific list/bulk of IP addresses, should have VLAN 10 assigned to the policy and we are looking to see if anybody has any info on how to do this.

So , for example, if a specific switch with an IP address in the classification rule comes online , it will be assigned VLAN 10.

Hope this request makes some sense !

Thanks

Siobhán

When creating a VLAN assigned to a port type for a Universal Hardware Switch running Switch Engine you have the option to assign VLAN based on classification. When you define VLAN via classification within a port type, the VLAN will be assigned based on the classification rule you've created. Take a look at Pg. 28 of our ExtremeCloud IQ Universal Switch Deployment Guide for more details -> https://documentation.extremenetworks.com/xiq/switch_deployment_guide/downloads/extremecloud%20iq_un...

Hello,

You can set it to an ip scope within the assignment rules for device template, as long as you already have a default template configured.

Not sure if that's what you were asking, would need clarification on what you mean by assign vlan 10 to the policy, do you mean management vlan?
