Would it be better to setup the radius server on the Aerohive/Extreme IQ AP's or via Microsoft NPS Server?  We moved to an NPS server several months ago, but I'm not getting access to our AP's across the campus.

The AP’s are all in the subnet on the client section.  I find that connecting new users on the SSID doesn’t work well on a Server based NPS.  I don’t have more than 400 users at this time.

It depends how many users you have, anything over 512 concurrent users and you have outgrown the AP radius server solution.

As far as the NPS server goes, have you added all of your APs in the Clients section of the RADIUS Clients and Servers in NPS?
