AP121 - No connection to Classic or IQ Connect

Hello,

I Have an AP121 who was unused for a while, i removed it from a classic hivemanager and i tried to add it to a ExtremeCloud IQ but the ap never connect to. When i try to add it to another classic Hivemanager, i haven’t connection too. I added the hivemanager server manually but the AP still don't connect.


I Have another AP in the network and this AP is connected, so i don’t think about a firewall misconfiguration.


I thought about the certificate update that Extreme Networks have done (last year ? I don’t remember) but i didn’t kept the certificate update process, so i can’t try this.


If anyone have an idea, it will be welcome.

Thank you for sharing all of that, it looks like everything is checking out and the AP thinks it’s connected. You might have a bad AP here, I’d recommend submitting a case to request an RMA.

Hello,

 

I have replaced the AP by a 305C, in the same switch interface, with the same network cable, and it works, it seems the AP121 is out of order.

Thanks for the debugs, I am seeing some missed echo packets here, for example:

XIQ and the APs have a call and response check-in system that allows them to confirm that each side of the connection is still responsive; these call and response packets are called echos. There is a specific time window within which an AP would need to respond to an echo to be considered still responsive. If the AP misses a certain number of echos back to back, it is considered disconnected until it responds again. If an AP is still connected to the internet and passing traffic while missing echos, it's likely due to latency on the network; the AP is unable to process the echo request quickly enough due to the amount of traffic it has to process before responding. 

 

It might be helpful to check the backend network to look for anything that could cause that delay in passing traffic that is causing the APs to miss their echo response window.
