Hi, recently bought 2 old areohive AP230’s was reading that I would need to ask to have the serial numbers released so I could add them to the extreme IQ managment. Only have 1 unit on hand though. i hope it wont be to much trouble to add a comment later with the other SN?

Thank you for those additional serial numbers, I’ve reached out to the original owner for those devices as well. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back on any of these devices, thank you very much for your patience in the mean time.

No worries, I have been able to use basic functionality of the devices using command line and serial connection, but just wish I could start using some of the more advanced features.
Here are the two new devices

Thank you for letting me know, I have also tried checking in with the original owners a few times but they have not responded. I’ll reach out to the account manager now to see if we can get some clarity behind who owns the account and if it’s still active. Please feel free to check in here any time for an update, I’m sorry this has taken so long already. If you want to send me the other serial numbers you are trying to onboard, I can start the look up process for those as well.

Hi Sam,
I was unable to get in contact with the original owner of that access point. Is there any way to move along with the removal of the device from there account? I have two other Aerohive devices that state the same error now as well.

I, unfortunately, do not know the original owner, I bought the device off eBay. I could try to contact the seller but I don't think they were the original owner.

Hi Dwight, thank you for reaching out and for providing that serial number, it’s no trouble at all to give us the second serial number later on. Unfortunately, we see this device registered to a different user in our system right now and we will need to get permission from the original owner to move the device out of their inventory. I have emailed them requesting their permission, if you are still in contact with the original owner and can encourage them to respond to my email that may help move things along. Please let me know if you have any questions in the mean time.
