Cannot Update a Reset AP121 running on Firmware 6.4.1.0 (6.4r1a)

Cannot Update a Reset AP121 running on Firmware 6.4.1.0 (6.4r1a)

Hi,

I have an issue where we have had to reset a AP121 which now has firmware 6.4.1.0 (6.4r1a).

When I upgrade via Hive Manager it displays a "Device Update Failed" regardless of HiveOS version I choose.

Resetting the AP back to factory settings and re-adding it to the the HiveManager does NOT seem to work as well.

I also cannot connect to the AP via Web Gui even though it is enabled on Hive manager and has an IP Address on the same network i am on.

Is there a way i can upload the firmware using putty?

Many thanks

Hi there, you can absolutely update the AP’s firmware via CLI, this guide reviews the steps for that: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000056737&q=Firmware%20via%20CLI%20HiveOS

The AP will need to be on firmware 6.5r3 or higher in order to manage it in ExtremeCloud IQ (XIQ).
