ExtremeIQ Connect device update failed when upgrading from 6.8r1

Greetings,

We recently moved some AP130 devices to extremeCloud IQ Connect that have FW 6.8r1 and we are trying to update the FW but when we try to run the update, it fails. We can’t retrieve any detailed information about the error. Is this a known issue of some sort?

We were trying to upgrade to the latest release (10.0r8) directly but also tried to upgrade to other other versions with no diference.

Thanks in advance,

RM

Hello,

Firewall (port 443) would have been my first thought also. If you hover over the “device update failed” it should give you more of a description of why it failed. Updating the firmware should be fine to jump to the latest as I think it’s 6.5r5 or r7 that is the minimum firmware level to work with IQ.

Thanks Ronald,

I’ve doublechecked and all outbound traffic is being allowed through our gateway, and confirmed it running a tcpdump.

We also tried to upgrade to a older version but with the same results.

Best regards,

RM

Hi,

I’m not an expert (yet :-)) but I’d check whether all required ports are open on the firewall…

In the CloudIQ GUI > move the mouse over your account name in the upper right corner and select “About ExtremeCloud IQ” and click the link for “Firewall Configuration Guide:”

Also you’d try to get to a lower AP firmware version first.
