Hi everyone,
I picked up a used AP5010 on eBay that's running HiveOS 10.5r0 from 2022. I'm trying to get it updated and added to ExtremeCloud IQ, but I'm stuck.
When I try to claim it, I get:
"A stale record of the device was found in the redirector"
I've called Extreme three times so far. GTAC sent me to Sales, Sales hasn't responded, and the last person I spoke with said they'd email me so I could provide proof of purchase. That email never came.
I have proof of purchase and am happy to provide it. At this point, I'm just trying to figure out how to get the AP released from the previous owner and get access to current firmware.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there a way to get the AP5010 firmware without an active contract, or am I completely dependent on Extreme to clear the stale redirector record first?
Honestly, it's been a pretty frustrating experience. I'm on the East Coast and haven't had much luck finding a partner interested in helping with a two AP setup.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,
I think you are going to have a hard time finding a partner interested in a 2 AP setup when you haven't even bought the AP through this partner...
Back to your issue, you would need to open a ticket. But for this you would need a contract support, which you may not have since you bought the AP in the grey market. That's why GTAC redirected you to sales. And I guess sales did not bother to contact you back for 2 APs (not that I endorse, but I understand...).
So best luck is to contact the seller and ask him to unregister the APs if possible.
