Need to unbind APs from unknown account (No Invoice)

Hi team,

I am trying to unbind 8 access points from a previous owner / unknown ExtremeCloud IQ account.

I bought the AP's from the previous owner at a local flee-market, but as it seems he dit not unbind the AP's from his account, and I don't have his contact information.

The Problem is I don't have the original purchase invoices or contract numbers.  I have physical possession of the hardware and need to get them managed on my own account.

Could a Community Manager please help me release these serial numbers? I am ready to provide photos of the MAC/Serial tags on the back of the physical devices via private message as proof of possession. Thank you!

Hi Frenki,
You will need to open a case with GTAC.
However, even if you are in possession of the units, there is no guarantee that anything can be done, as they might have been stolen.
If the original owner does not release the APs, they will only become "free" once the associated license expires and is not renewed—for instance, if a company switches solutions or goes bankrupt.
Here’s a tip: try opening a support ticket using the serial number to check if there is an active support contract. Usually (though there are no guarantees), if there is a hardware contract, there are also XIQ/EP1 licenses; this helps verify long-term contracts (3 or 5 years) that are still valid.
Here is the policy regarding the gray market:

I hope this helps.
