SNMP Contact Lost Extreme Control

SNMP Contact Lost Extreme Control

Hi All,

We recently installed two new stacks in a location. we're having snmp issues with one of them.

the stack comprises of 4 x x440-g2-48p-10ge4 switches, running code 30.7.2.1

I am able to SSH to the switch but XMC reports it down.

When I review the NAC appliance logs I see these errors;

Have tried restarting the SNMP processes, but no different.

I have reviewed the release notes for the code but no mention of snmp issues and nothing related to a bug in the latest recommended either (30.7.2.1 patch 1-20)

any thoughts would be appreciated

Thanks
Ian

that setting is set to use switch credentials.

we also use solarwinds to poll the switches using the same credentials and that's saying the switch is reachable

Hello Ian,

try an snmpwalk from XMC and NAC directly with your creds to be sure nothing is in between XMC/NAC and the switch. You start snmpwalk on XMC/NAC cli.
Check if you are using the correct profile for you device in XMC. In addition check Alarm&Events->Events on XMC after you did an rediscover vor the mentioned switches.
What can you see in the logs?
In addition check the switch logs (show log) for snmp events after the rediscover.

Regards
Stephan

Strangely the switch recovered over the weekend, it was extremely slow to access the cli and run commands so I guess system resources were causing the issue
