i am looking for some detailed information how an EXOS Switch handle a data packet (beyond the manual).
In the old Enterasys knowledge-base i knew an article which described exactly what happenend when a packet is arriving on a port - how it is been forwarded - how VLAN and Policy is binding - Queue handling - etc. Is is the complete sequence. It was coming like a block diagram which shows all the details very clearly.
Unfortunately i cannot find the article again - but i knew it and i hope this informatione will be today also available for EXOS and EOS.
If somebody can provide such information it will be very welcome.
Regards,
Matthias

Here's a link to the page Edward mentions:
http://documentation.extremenetworks.com/exos/EXOS_21_1/QoS/qos.shtml
I know Matthias knows this, but wanted to post for others that may read in future.
I'll ask around and see what happened to the old KB article he's referencing.

Are you looking for this one? It can be found in user v16.2 user manual QoS section.
