Hello everybody,
I’m working on a project to peer BGP with 2 Service Provider, and it’s my first time using Extreme networks; my question is :
Is the Extreme Networks X460-G2 enough to be used ONLY for the BGP peering(2 peer : iBGP and eBGP) ?
If yes, what about the capacity of the box receiving the Full Internet Table or receiving just the default route from the Service Provider ?
Thank you so much guys in advance for your support and help.
Best regards,
Naico

Hello Jordan,
Thank you for reply.
Yes exactly, we already have the licence Core.
My question is related espacially for the capacity of the box to handle 2 peer BGP(internal and external).
Based on your response I can read indirectly “Yes” 🙂

Pretty sure the X460-g2s need the additional licensing to use BGP protocol. License needed is Core feature.
You can check what current license is applied to switch by issuing the command: show license
