Bought an aftermarket x460-48p and I've had a HECK of a time finding the right console cable to connect to the console via serial port. I seem to be getting different answers everytime I find another resource:
-Null modem cable - https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000087103
-DB9 cable (TXD on pin 2, RXD on 3)- https://community.extremenetworks.com/t5/extremeswitching-exos-switch/used-summit-x460-48p-poe-switc...
-DB9 cable per summit hw install manual pinout (RXD on pin 2, TXD on pin 3)
Tried these two cables so far and putty just hangs, hitting enter does nothing:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0759HSLP1?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
This one matches the pinout in the pdf manual (RXD on pin 2, TXD on pin 3)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078MCCX3C?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Null modem cable (maybe not supposed to be crossed wire rollover)
This cable in on its way and will be here tomorrow: (TXD on pin 2, RXD on 3)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GA0IZBO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Any help would be appreciated!

It turns out it was the cable after all. This cable allowed me to connect right away: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GA0IZBO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but the pdf documentation seems wrong in regard to the pinout needed for the DB9 cable.
Below is the cable pinout that worked for me:

Flow Control setting in your Putty?
If you try at switch boot time, you see some text scrolling? If so your tx/rx line are correct.

Ive tried both none and XON/XOFF, and rebooting the switch while "connected" and no output on putty. Have a feeling the cable is the wrong one and the docs have transposed RXD and TXD. New cable coming today with switched RXD and TXD
Says to use XON/XOFF here: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000082448
Set the serial connection settings to:
115200 bps (X465, X590, X690, X870 and VSP 7400 models)115200 bps (Universal 5320, 5420, 5520 and 5720 models)- 9600 bps (Other models)
- No parity
- 8 Data bits
- 1 Stop bit
- XON/XOFF flow control
Says to use none here: https://www.extremenetworks.com/support/initial-network-connection-configuration-exos/
Baud rate: 115200 bps (for 5420, 5520, X435, X465, X590, X690, X695, and X870 models)- Baud rate: 9600 bps (for other models)
- Data bits: 8
- Stop bit: 1
- Parity: none
- Flow control: none
