Console cable hell for x460-48p! SOS! :)

Bought an aftermarket x460-48p and I've had  a HECK of a time finding the right console cable to connect to the console via serial port.   I seem to be getting different answers everytime I find another resource:

Tried these two cables so far and putty just hangs, hitting enter does nothing:

Flow Control setting in your Putty?

If you try at switch boot time, you see some text scrolling?   If so your tx/rx line are correct.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but the pdf documentation seems wrong in regard to the pinout needed for the DB9 cable.

Ive tried both none and XON/XOFF, and rebooting the switch while "connected" and no output on putty.  Have a feeling the cable is the wrong one and the docs have transposed RXD and TXD.  New cable coming today with switched RXD and TXD

• 115200 bps (X465, X590, X690, X870 and VSP 7400 models)
• 115200 bps (Universal 5320, 5420, 5520 and  5720 models)
• 9600 bps (Other models)
• No parity
• 8 Data bits
• 1 Stop bit
• XON/XOFF flow control

• Baud rate: 115200 bps (for 5420, 5520, X435, X465, X590, X690, X695, and X870 models)
• Baud rate: 9600 bps (for other models)
