Detecting IPv4 duplicate addresses

Detecting IPv4 duplicate addresses

https://extreme-networks.my.site.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000103110 says that Gratuitous ARP (GARP)/IPv4 Duplicate Address Detection (DAD) support was removed in version 30.1

Is there any place with the rationale and explanation for this, please?

Also, even with the latest version of EXOS (32.6.3), there is still nothing that can be done to detect duplicate IPv4s?

Hello,

I believe that feature had to be removed due to underlying software changes. This feature has not been redeveloped in new versions. The best way to detect duplicate IPs at this time is probably either ACL counters or packet captures.

Otherwise, if the duplication address detection feature is important to you, I would recommend opening a feature request with your account team.
