Is there an explanation why Receive Packet Counter is zero BUT Received Bytes Counter shows traffic?

Sorry, no real help here. But: do the counters that have values at least go up?
Just asking because I have a couple of switches where most of the ports suddenly stopped counting traffic altogether (x460s, running 15.something)
