EXOS use case installing Summit-X-optics.xmod

Since EXOS 30.2 you can download to every EXOS Version also a new xmod called summitX-30.4.1.2-optics.

In which use case should i install that xmod?
What are the advantages i get on a summit switch if i install this xmod currently ?
All supported (extreme) GBICs (optics) are included in standard summit image.

Manual is very poor and not very specific:

To decouple optical transceiver support from ExtremeXOS releases, optics support can be supplied by an ExtremeXOS module software package (XMOD). The Optics XMOD is a separate software package (identified by .XMOD extension) from ExtremeXOS (identified by .xos extension) that can be released between ExtremeXOS releases providing greater flexibility to support new optics.

But what does that means in detail ?

Do i get a wider support of 3rd Party optics ?
Which special optics are included in current  summitX-30.4.1.2-optics.xmod ?

i hope someone can clarify that ?!

This information is present as comments for different types of switches here - https://www.extremenetworks.com/support/compatibility-matrices/summit-extremeswitching-and-e4g-compo...

Hi Alexandr,

you ask the same question than i ;-))

but it seems this question was only answered in general.

Does you or anybody other knows which addtional optics support was in included in current summitX-30.4.1.2-optics.xmod - for which switch platform ?

Or i this xmod currently only a framework for future optics ?
