Extreme switch failed to use primary.cfg

hello everyone,

We have an issue with some switch x450-48p and x440-24p.

These switch when boot up did not load the primary configuration (that is previus saved), below the steps done:

1)Boot up a switch that have factory default config
2)change account admin and do come configuration
3)save the configuration (primary and secondary)
4)power off the switch removing the cable
5)power on the switch inserting the cable
6)At this point the switch always start with factory  default configuration

Tried force the primary conf with: use config primary, safe config

same problem.

Below logs from the switch after point 5):

12/07/1919 09:15:32.37 «Warn:cm.Warning> Config Selected is overridden by BootFlagConfigName(/proc/extr/nvram/configname) = e

unable to find any information about that, no support from extreme (hehehehe have to pay lol)

To me this sounds like it's an empty CMOS battery that's required to keep the NVRAM alive.

As soon as you pull the power plug the empty battery can't do its job and you lose the config (and anything else in NVRAM).

Extreme wouldn't sell you an entitlement on End-of-Life products, so you wouldn't even be able to buy support for the legacy x450 or x440.

can we change the CMOS battery as per have a definitely solution?

i opened an x440 but i can't see any usual cmos battery.

save the config as an .xsf file

run the command: load script config.xsf

save config

finished
