In addition to what Ronald mentioned, the fan speed is dynamically determined based on the switch temp and PoE load. You can try to remove PoE devices and reduce the temperature to reduce the fan speed, but otherwise it is completely automatic. Some switches are louder than others, I know that some newer models are fanless and silent, and some are jet planes, depending on the application. Acoustic specs are usually in the product datasheet or hardware installation guide.

Dear sikandar
it was a bad bug in EXOS system, even X440-G2 models have high fan speed problem!!!! as a solution some users have mentioned that in newer versions of EXOS this problem has been solved and if you migrate to higher versions of EXOS this problem will be solved! but no one has mentioned about Summit X440-24t or 24P or 48P models!!!! my recommendation is to upgrade the x440-24p to the highest supported EXOS version and check if the problem has been solved or not!!! be careful newer image models only support x440-G2 models not X440-24P. read the documents before any upgrade
