Switch 1 -
Booting after System Failure.).
I have already swapped optics and will be heading 2 hours to the site to swap ports.
Any additional insight would REALLY be appreciated.

The link is approx 4 miles and the customer has moved our gear. They are using a multi mode patch cable on the single mode link. While this is wrong and being corrected today, the link was working over it until recently.

I would question why you have almost a 3 db difference in light levels on such a short run... Was that extra loss there before the port flaps? If not then you may have a bend in a splice case somewhere or a patch problem... maybe it not seated in frame on back side ... As a rule we try to keep under 2 db difference in fiber loss on ten gig links. Longer links we are more flexible but a short link the fibers should have very close to the same loss...
