I am finding it difficult to locate mac addresses for PC's and Printers when they are not assigned to a particular VLAN. When I run the cmd show fdp (mac address), nothing shows. I have deleted all ports from the default vlan. I do have the ports on a VOIP vlan also so I can find the mac for the phone but I am unable to find the mac of the other devices. The switches are Extreme 5420's running EXOS. Any ideas?

I spoke with someone at GTAC and they informed me, there is no way to find a mac if it is not associated to a VLAN

@moviebox On EXOS switches, MAC addresses won’t populate in the FDB unless the device is actively passing traffic on that VLAN, so if the PC or printer isn’t generating traffic and isn’t a member of any data VLAN, the MAC simply won’t show up. Since you’ve removed ports from the default VLAN and only have VOIP configured, the switch only learns the phone MACs. Try temporarily adding the access ports back to a data VLAN and generate traffic, then run `show` or `show mac-address-table` again. Also, checking the official Extreme documentation online through the provided URL can help confirm the exact command for the 5420 series.

Run the same command for the vlan config - show configuration detail vlan
