Mac-locking emails and notifications

I don’t know if this has been answered but I am trying to set up my switch to send me an email when our MAC-locking learn limit has been exceeded. I would also like to see it in the OneView alarms but it doesn’t show up on there either. Our SNMP Notifications are enabled and configured but our SNMP Traps says sent = 0. we are running on 22.6.1.4 patch1-8

hi gobrien,

all you need to do is to enable mac-locking, enable mac-locking violation trap/log and create an alarm inside xmc.

For exampe with port 1:

enable mac-locking

enable mac-locking ports 1

configure mac-locking port 1 first-arrival limit-learn 1

configure mac-locking port 1 first-arrival aging enable

configure mac-locking port 1 trap violation on

configure mac-locking port 1 log violation

Check inside the ems configuration that there is an syslog server (XMC) set.

Inside XMC, go to Alarms → Alarm Configuration → Add Custom Criteria Alarm

Severity: Set from source

Criteria: Log: Syslog; Information Phrase “MAC address learning limit has been exceeded”

You can set as action → E-Mail action.

Now you should see an Alarm inside XMC and get an E-Mail.
