Dear Extreme,

One of the ports on our X450G2 stack is showing up as enabled and active. However when we want to see the mac address of this port, nothing is being listed?
How is this possible? How can we figure out the mac address of this port?

Slot-1 LANSTACK.45 # show port 2:13 no
Port Summary
Port Display VLAN Name Port Link Speed Duplex
# String (or # VLANs) State State Actual Actual

Slot-1 DCK-LANSTACK.47 # show fdb port 2:13

Thanks for the hint, Brian. I wasn't able to check physically yet, since other work came in between. But i'll keep that in mind.

Hi,

"show ports 2:13 utilization" will show if that device is sending traffic.  If it is not, then the switch will not learn a fdb.  EXOS learns on the source mac:

Based on the auto negotiation being at "10", is it possible that device is asleep/dormant?

Thanks,

Dear Christopher,

Thank you very much for the reply.

Using the "utilization" command shows me 0 packets received or 0 packets send. Which means the device is indeed either in sleep mode or dormant.

I'll ask someone to check physically.

Kind regards,
Michiel
