Dear Extreme,

One of the ports on our X450G2 stack is showing up as enabled and active. However when we want to see the mac address of this port, nothing is being listed?
How is this possible? How can we figure out the mac address of this port?

Log in to the core switch and find which port the specific MAC is found on. Then check the CDP neighbour table and identify what switch you have on that port.

IĀ“ve seen this when a PC has WoL enabled so it is listening for magic pkts but doesnĀ“t generate any traffic.

Good to know! Thanks Adrian. For now we didn't investigate any further and just disabled the ports (since we're working from remote). So far we haven't heard any complaints for 3 weeks now...

I've seen this when the device has a static ip and is in the wrong vlan.  Weird, but it happens.
