I'm trying to access the bootrom on several x460 switches but holding the spacebar does nothing. At first I suspected it was my timing being off but I now realize the problem is that no keyboard input is being sent at all. Pressing Enter does nothing so I can't use REBOOT AS MASTER-CAPABLE.
Changing settings like the rate, parity, or flow control to the following does not work either.

I've tried Windows, Ubuntu, Mint, CentOS. Putty, Minicom, different cables and hardware but the problem persists.

I don't think you read my post at all. My whole issue is that the keyboard input is not working whatsoever. That includes holding the spacebar to enter the bootrom...

Hi,
Try that;
Enter bootrom on start, hold space and enter. In bootrom select another version. enter command prompt "boot 2" or if you using secondary image use command "boot 1". try the first command if you see all same then try the other command.
Even you cannot access the login prompt, you can use that link to load image from zero. In my experience it was best solution. Here is the link:
