SummitStack-V between X450-G2 & X460-G2 using 10GBE

Is it possible to build “SummitStack-V” between X450-G2 & X460-G2 using 10GBE.

Do I need anything else as the two Switchches and four SFP+ modules?

Licenses? what ever?

Cheers Joe

Hi Johannes,

You can use SummitStack-V to connect X450-G2 and X460-G2 _if_ both are a *-10GE4 model. This is done via alternate stacking.

Regarding licensing the stack will use the lowest license level of any stack member. If you do not purchase any additional licenses, for the combination of X450-G2 and X460-G2 this will be Edge License. If the X450-G2 does everything you require, this will be fine.

Please be aware that other metrics (in terms of performance) will also drop to the capability of the “weakest” stack member.

Hello,

I’m expert for ERS and VSP but a newby for XOS.

Stacking on ERS is very easy.

No additional Hardware, no additional License.

My understanding problem … the  XOS StackingTool shows “VIMs required” but I want to use only two of the native 10 GbE ports.

Is it possible to Stack X450-G2 & X460-G2 Series without any additional Hardware?

(without VIM’s a.s.o)

Regards

Joe

No need for addition licenses for stacking.

I mean that both master-capable nodes have to have same license level (for example Adv Edge)

Thank you!
