Hello,
unfortunately I had to realize that the switch logs are empty after a power failure. Or the last entries are several weeks old (Power failure was on 17.01.25 the last log entries are from 06.12.24. I know for sure that there were log entries because I checked the log on a switch last week). Is this normal? How can I change this? This has happened with 8 pieces with the following Firmware 32.7.1.9-patch1-49 and models X440-G2-24T-G4, X460-G2-48T-10G4, 5420F-24T-4XE- Switch Engin

Hi Silence4eveR,
I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your switch logs. It sounds frustrating, especially since you know there should be recent entries.
From what I've found, it seems that after a power failure, the logs might not be retained due to how the switch handles log storage. However, logs with severity levels Warning through Critical should be retained in the NVRAM. You can check these logs with the command show log messages nvram.
If the logs are still missing, it might be worth checking if there's a firmware update available for your switches that addresses this issue.

This by design. Logs with severity Warning through Critical are retained after a power outage in the nvram which you can see with below command.
show log messages nvram
