Hi, By http://documentation.extremenetworks.com/exos/exos_21_1/vxlan/c_overview.shtml it seem that EXOS has not supported VXLAN L3 gateway, but it has supported VXLAN L2 gateway. So, is it possible to do VXLAN to VLAN gatewaying (VNI to VLANID) and then do inter-VLAN routing as usual for providing inter-VXLAN routing functionality on the same switch? Best regards,

Hi,

no, this is requiring L3GW support, which is dependent on the ASIC. As of today, you need to do the routing outside of the VXLAN "fabric" with EXOS. You should contact your local SE to discuss the plans for VXLAN L3GW support (platform/sw support).

Please note that you can do VXLAN L3GW, today, on S-series and VSP 7200/8200/8400 series.

yes, you need separate switches to perform routing. The VR trick will not work I guess, likewise using an external loopback by cabling two ports together, as you will have the same Mac address in src & dest. And no, trying VRRP to change the Mac address will not work either (as far as I remember).

you should be able to do routing as usual on different vlans than those used as "tenant vlans" for VXLAN, with existing HW/SW capable of VXLAN.

Check with your local SE for information on VXLAN L3GW plans for EXOS.

Hi Grosjean, Do you mean that it is possible to do it with separate switch? Is the switch of VXLAN L2GW still can do inter-VLAN routing VLANs which are not related with VXLAN? What if I separate VXLAN L2GW and inter-VLAN routing to be different VR and interconnect them by through physical ports? Best regards,
