what is different both 802.az and 802.3az

Hi Sirs

I search the datasheet , the EXOS switch support 802.az

but I search the other competitor datasheet , it shows 802.3az .

I google 802.3az and 802.az , they both show EEE standard , but almost 802.3az 

Could you please explain what is different ?

It looks like a documentation issue.  It should be 802.3 az.  What datasheet was it in?

Yes, there is no such thing as 802.az in the IEEE world of standards, and 802.3az is also called Energy Efficient Ethernet, EEE. A customer has it configured on a few 1000 ports and it seems to work as expected. Max power saving on a 5420F-48P switch was about 14%, excluding PoE usage, when all ports used EEE and were idle.
