On an EXOS X690 48-port SFP+ Switch, it looks like the 6 slots on the far right have 2 QSFP up to 40gbe, and possibly 4 SFP28 100gbe interfaces? Lets say I want to connect the last port to another x690 and establish MLAG peer relationship over that, plus trunk any other vlans we need from one datacenter switch to another. Can I use the other 3 SFP28 slots and break them out into 12 x 25gbe fiber optic cables?

The answer is in the datasheet:
QSFP Port Configurations Support
• 4 x 10Gb/40Gb QSFP+ ports and 2 10Gb/25Gb/40Gb/50Gb/100Gb QSFP28 ports
or
• 4 x 10Gb/25Gb/40Gb/50Gb/100Gb QSFP28 ports (two QSFPports inactive) <--- this is what you want I guess?
I would be very hesitant to use only one link for the ISC (MLAG inter-switch link). As a minimum, also configure an alternate ISC VLAN that you run through a separate 1 or 10 G link. By far the best way to build an MLAG pair is to use a LAG for the ISC with minimum two links. Also, separate the two ports as much as possible in order to minimize hardware dependencies between the two.

So it sounds like if you use the 4 QSFP28 ports, the system disables the 2 QSFP 10/40 gig ports?
Yeah I would consider using the last two ports with 100gb dac cables between two x690's and create vlan MLAG-ISC tag 4094 for example over that lag. I guess would be something like enable sharing 65 grouping 65,69 algorithm address-based L3_L4 lacp.
I guess if i partition the other two QSFP28's for 25gbe I'd have 8 then. ports 57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64.
If I need more than 8 25gbe then I guess I need to go up to a more expensive switch.
