Extreme EXOS Metro Ethernet E-Line and E-LAN

I have a query

Extreme XOS supports Metro Ethernet E-Line (Point-to-Point EVC) and E-LAN (Multipoint-to-Mulipoint EVC). ?

I have not found information about this in the Concepts_Guide.

Thanks for replying,
I understand the option to use either VPLS or VMAN to deliver these services.

Specifically, I'm after XOS Configurations and Policy Files used by Extreme Networks to gain MEF certification for their hardware devices.
Looking at the MEF documentation, there a very specific settings around CoS, Traffic Management and OAM that need to occur to be compliant which are not covered in great detail by the XOS Concepts Guide.

If provided, these configs would provide me a working "base-plate" to work from and built out the services. Additionally, this would be a huge time and money saver in terms of development costs.

Paul, would you be able to reach out to your colleagues that were involved in MEF certification process?

Scope:
Proof of Concept on protocols and scenarios associated with the following Metro Ethernet services (according to MEF):

• E-Line (Point-to-Point EVC). Point-to-Point L2 VPNs, Ethernet Internet Access
- Port-Based: Ethernet Private Line (EPL)
- VLAN-based: Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL)

• E-LAN ​​(Multipoint-to-Mulipoint EVC). Multipoint L2 VPNs, Transparent LAN Service, Multicast networks
- Port-Based: Ethernet Private LAN (EP-LAN)
- VLAN-based: Ethernet Virtual Private LAN (EVP-LAN)

This customer requirement I could cover with VMAN or VPLS?

Hello Jhonn and Rowan Metro services can be done using either VPLS or VMAN (PBN 802.1ad). I would suggest looking in the Concepts Guide under the chapter for VMANs to answer your questions on E-LINE/E-LAN

We are also investigating the possibility of providing MEF services to our customers using Extreme Networks equipment. According to https://www.metroethernetforum.org/certification/equipment-certification-registry

The following Extreme Networks equipment:

• E4G-200
• Summit X460-G2 (Summit X460-G2-24p-10GE4)
• Summit X670-G2 (Summit X670-G2-48X-4q)
• Summit X670-G2 (Summit X670-G2-72x)
• (Extreme claim the Summit X770 as MEF9 and MEF14 certified on the Data Sheet)

Supports the following MEF 2.0 services:

• E-Line (EPL/EVP)
• E-LAN (EP-LAN/EVP-LAN)

Is there any configuration details from the certification tests that Extreme Networks can make openly available?

One would assume that to provide a standard set of services (outlined by the MEF) there would be a standard way of configuring XOS…consequently saving XOS users a bunch of pain and having to re-invent the wheel!
