Thanks to carol to ask same question i have and also thanks to Drew to answer this.
Just in this moment i need this information because i want to expand a customer X460 Switch....
Achieving this goal there are several steps needed:
+ power off to insert X460 Stacking Modul :-((
+ enabling stacking an that switch - but THIS erase the config -> hardly for remote workers
+ coverting existing standalone config (previously saved) to stacking config
+ loading config = reboot
+ checking if config is 100% complete converted because converting tool (non_stacking_config_convert.py) is NOT official supported :-(((
If these steps are made easier in future switches networks admins life wil be easier than today.
Regards,
Matthias

To share not only bad experience ... ;-))))
If standalone switch config was converted before via python script and stored on the switch. The rebooted stack-enabled switch (=Slot1) do NOT loose config (like in previous versions) it have a valid config and is still reacheable via SSH.
So doing this step remotely is a great enhancement (whithout the need of serial console access).
