Two or more standalone switches connected/configured/managed together are called stacked switches.
Modular switches will have a Chassis,Management Modules and I/O Modules.
I hope this provides clarity.

Sai,
You can look in to this the other way, All Summit series switches are standalone and you need to check it can be stacked or not and for that you already have the answer.
The good thing is that all Summit series switches support stacking.
I hope this helps!

Hi,
I would categorize all switches that can be stacked as stackable. The Extreme Networks product web site seems to agree mostly. That would make the X650-24x stackable.
The standalone switches listed there cannot be stacked (with the exception of the SSA, which is listed under both stackable and standalone, perhaps because of the name S-Series Standalone (SSA)).
All of the stackable switches can be used as standalone switches as well, stacking is just a possibility.
Thanks,
Erik
