avaya switch password reset

Hi community,

I need help for resetting a avaya ERS8010 switch password. i need to preserve configurations as well. i have seen an option for snmp rw, but i dont have rw configured. is there any way i can reset without loosing the configuration?. or do we need to raise ticket with TAC. i have seen methods in cisco and huawei with boot password, so that no need of TAC support for resetting.

If this switch is in production I recommend making a ticket.
If its just lab you don't need to...

just boot the switch.
Then hit "enter" when asked to go into Monitor mode.
then type "reset-passwd".
Then reboot the switch.
The switch will now reboot with default users names reset with default passwords for EVERYTHING. so you will want to harden the switch once you are done.

HI Abdul,

Raise a Service request with GTAC and they need downtime to reset the password as the switch requires reboot in-order to reset the password for ERS 8010 Chassis.
