We're also using TPVM for Ubuntu/Linux tools, Jump-Hosts, etc. šŸ˜‰

sure. using TPVM for nice Ubuntu/Linux tools , especially RPCAP, and FIGW VM to create IPSEC tunnels as underlay for interconnecting fabric connect islands across IP network/Internet and doing fragmentation, as Internet would not allow for those encapsulated frames with SPBM (PBB) plus VXLAN plus IPSEC headers..

All due respect sir. You are an extreme employee. I was not wondering case study or the validity of the feature. No doubt its useful. However, I was wondering if anyone in the field outside of extreme is actually using this feature. By the way, encapsulating fabric accross the internet is the job of the SDWAN isn't it?

Hi Flan,

We had a customer who was running the IPSec gateway on their VSP7400 to connect their branch offices. There was no SD-WAN solution from Extreme back then; it came much later. We also experimented with integrating Routing Segmentation through an open-source firewall (such as OpenSense) hosted directly on the switch, and it worked flawlessly.
