Hello

We have problems with 2 x VSP 7024 switchs

they have been working over 2 years in a Stack Configuration.

Our costumer have now problem that the Stack in not more working as an stack, each switch works alone

We have see some problems with the Stacking cable, can a stack of two switches work with only one cable ?

VSP7024 stacking uses dual parallel cable runs; which means a stack of 2 has a total of 4 stacking cables.

To build the stack you need all the cables. I tried a few months back with one cable missing to form a stack of 4and the result was a failure. Of course if the stack is already formed, then failure of a stacking cable should not be a problem.

To the best of my knowledge 10.4.0 is no longer supported.  And its very old.

I would upgrade to 10.4.6 and see if it solves the problem

Is there any further information on the loopback-testing feature for stacking?

stack loopback—test internal

stack loopback—test external

For external (checking the cables) do I have to connect the cable to the upper UP port and the upper DOWN port on the same switch, or how ist he cabling?
