Universal Hardware : Insert USB stick + power on -> Boots into VOSS as Fabric Engine

Boot universal hardware out of the box directly into Fabric Engine (VOSS)

  1. Obtain Python script from Github: https://github.com/extremenetworks/ExtremeScripting/tree/master/EXOS/Python/ztp-convert-to-fabric-en...
  2. Place Python script on USB key, naming it ā€œztp.pyā€
  3. Add desired VOSS images to same USB stick
  4. Insert USB stick into switch
  5. Power on the switch (or if switch was already booted into EXOS, execute ā€œunconfigure switchā€)

Hi Steven,

I tried to use the ztp workflow today with some brand new 5320-48P-8XE switches and it did not work as expected. I prepared the usb stick as described, but the switch booted to the 30sek timer and then proceeded to boot into EXOS. After a "unconfigure switch (all)" (without changing anything else) and rebooting everything worked fine.

Is this expected behavior or did I do anything wrong?

Thank you and best regards

Robin

Just a note, for those trying to download the Python script from Github, you need to right-click on the "Raw" button and "Save Link As...":
